The Beginnings – Ravindra Pillay began working in mid-1980’s as a service engineer for VOLTAS Ltd., at the Sales headquarters of their Machine tool division in Mumbai. During his tenure of 13 years, he was trained extensively in Europe on Precision Metal cutting CNC Machines equipped with various control systems like Philips, Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain, Bosch and others.
In 1993, he joined FANUC INDIA Ltd. Bangalore, a joint venture of VOLTAS Ltd., While training the customers on optimum use of CNC control systems, he realized the necessity of providing quality training to the CNC Machine users and felt the absence of honest and dedicated transfer of knowledge and experience. While at Voltas and Fanuc, Ravindra Pillay taught in the machine tool industry, before starting CNC Tech India in 1999, understanding the need for an institution that provides Advanced CNC Programming and machine tool training to many technical, non- technical and fresher as well as experienced technical staff.
The initiative has helped more than tens of thousands of students over the years and helped people achieve a leap in their careers. Moreover, training under Mr. Pillay has opened the doors of the CNC world to many school dropouts and ITI/diploma holders, BE/ME with professional experience in this field.
